The USGS is funded in large part by the Department of Energy. That's the same department who continually aids the gas industry. USGS has spent enormous resources locating natural gas deposits around the world for the industry on the tax payer dime. Now, six years into the shale play boom they pull the curtain and enter to study water. "USGS has collaborated with Southwestern Energy" on a computer model. Wonder if science will prevail?
